Happy New Year! And happy new opportunity to Do What You Do Better!
As I was sitting down to write this first Point of the Week for 2008, my son Nicholas came over to me and asked what I was doing. I told him, and then asked him, “What would you write if you were me?” He didn’t hesitate when he said, “I’d tell people to forget about all of their mistakes from last year.”
He’s wiser than he knows. Starting a new year is probably the closest thing you get to a “do over” in life. And, best of all, it comes every year. That’s reason enough to feel encouraged, optimistic and ready for whatever the new year brings.
We hope you took the coaching advice from our final Point in 2007 to get a head start on making this your best year everboth in and out of the office. (Go to our revamped Web site at www.corsini.com, click on E-newsletter and access our archived Points for tips on starting 2008 off right.) The new year is the perfect (and logical) time to make the changes you need to achieve the success you seek.
At CCG, we did.
Several months ago, we decided to begin this year with promise and promises. We promised ourselves that we would evaluate everything we were doing in an all-out effort to do what we do better. The results of that assessment are:
- a new and improved Corsini Consulting Group, LLC Web site,
- a new look for our Point of the Week emails
- and a new Do What You Do Better Executive Workbook.
We spent several intense months developing this 220-page manual for executives. It’s a step-by-step guide to becoming a more effective leader at work and enjoying true success in many different aspects of your lifein and out of your office. The workbook is an extension of our Do What You Do Better With the 7 F’s of True Success book. It is based on the whole-life concepts discussed in the bookthe Fundamentals of work, sound Finances, the importance of Family, Faith, Fitness and Fun and the Fusion of all this.
The Executive Workbook is available to you now. If you’d like to order a copy, it’s $49.95 (plus shipping). Our new Web site has more information including how to order.
In the process of redoing several important aspects of our company, we realized a renewed respect for a couple of things.
First, focus is vital. We worked on somethingeither the Executive Workbook or the Web site or the revamped Point pageevery day. Yes, every day. We’d finish one section in the p.m. and start on the next section in the a.m. with the goal of finishing before the end of the year. (We were determined to start the year off fresh and right!)
Second, perseverance pays off. Section by section, Web page by Web page, we worked as a team and took them one at a time. We brainstormed and talked it out. We sent hundreds of emails and faxes back and forth. We achieved what we set out to do. And now we will delight in passing the benefits along to you.
That’s exactly what we’re going to do. Our improvements and changes are an important part of our sincere and authentic efforts to help you do what you do better.

It’s a new year. Begin it with promise and promises. In 2008, I challenge you to choose two or three big things that you are passionate about and would like to improve upon. Do something that will make you feel fulfilled once you (or your team, your company or your family) accomplish it. Think big. Dream big. These are the kinds of plans that start your new year off right.
