Before we begin this week’s Point, let me tell you how well our book is doing.

Pre-orders for Do What You Do Better For Salespeople were great, and now the book is here! It is written especially for rainmaker salespeople, and it focuses on how to be a success in all areas of your life. You can get your copy for only $14.95 (plus shipping) at www.corsini.com. Or come to a book signing, and get yours there.

I’ll be at Jonathan Benton Bookseller (2705 Culver Road in Mountain Brook Village) on Wednesday, October 22 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and at Little Professor Book Center (2717 18th St. S. in Homewood) on Friday, November 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thank you so much for your support!

Now, how about you? For the past several weeks, I’ve been going through The 7 F’s of True Success and asking you how you’re doing in each. We’ve covered the Fundamentals of work, Finances (and creating your financial legacy), Family (and friends), Faith, Fitness (emotional and physical) and Fun. Our final element is the Fusion of all these things, and we’ll talk about that today.

I’ve been asking you each week, Really, how are you doing?” My goal has been to get you thinking about where you stand in life professionally and personally. (You can review these past Points at www.corsini.com.)

With this whole-life outlook, let’s turn our attention to Fusion. Fusion is what happens when you’re succeeding with all the other F’s. Fusion is about balance. It’s the key to an authentic life of true success. By simple definition, it is the hardest F to attain. It takes focus, dedication and plenty of smart planning to get it right. And even then, sometimes Fusion comes and goes. You can lose hold of it with just one troubling phone call from an aging parent or a child at college. Health problems can set you back when it comes to Fusion. The current financial crisis might divert your attention from achieving Fusion.

Life is full of challenges. But if you’re steadfast and focused and dedicated to your own success (in and out of your office), you’ll be able to get back to your balanced state of Fusion—even in the face of adversity.

We can help.

In our coaching programs, we ask participants to write down their goals for each of their own 7 F’s. That’s a great place for everyone to start. To get to these goals (and figure out what’s truly important and crucial in your life) I’ll ask you: “What do you really want in life?” Also, consider this: “If, 12 months from today, you were proudly recounting a great year, what would have happened in your life during those months?”

What would you have accomplished at work? What kind of progress would you have made financially? Would your important personal relationships be strong? Where would you be from a faith perspective? What about your emotional and physical fitness? Would you say the year had been fun? More importantly, did you find joy in what you were doing each and every day?

Start thinking about this now. I strongly encourage dreaming, too. Fusion means having a job you love that fills you up so you have the traction (time and energy) to attend to goals in other areas of your life. Focus on Fusion, and realize your true potential. Life is simply too short and too precious not to do this.

Fusion is the most difficult and, yet, the most rewarding of all of The 7 F’s of True Success. It’s so very important because it impacts all areas of life. Achieve it, and you achieve true success. Take some time to deliberately reflect on where you are in life right now. Figure out what you want the next 12 months to look like, and focus on making all those good things you envision happen. This is exactly how you Do What You Do Better.
